Dive Site Review - Koh Khrock Pattaya Thailand

Koh Khrock, the nearest to shore of all the Pattaya Islands (7km) is only a short 15min ride on the Lady Go Diver. This site is always worth a visit when strong incoming tides are present, drift dives along this side of the island can be quite fun. although in a dropping tide the waters are clam and tranquil. Koh Krok is one of the least dived sites and anchor damage to corals is much less than some other areas at the near islands. This site is home to many reef fish, Moray eels, nudi branch and a few types of sea turtles.

Monthly Special - Cressi Matrix Scuba Mask Review

Let me start by saying I have used this mask for years. Any diver who understands that limited viz & the importance of comfort will appreciate this mask. its also great for larger faces. I had tried just about every mask on the market and this by far the best fit and comfortable mask I have found.

love its low volume and the skirt is tapered placing the bottom of the lens very close to my cheeks, there by improving field of downward vision, like looking down at your bc.
I buy the black silicone... for me this improves my vision by eliminating reflections from overhead. The mask adjusts very well too I personally have a velco and neoprene strap for added comfort which by the way may as well be for show since i could dive this mask with no strap it fits that well!

I sure hope you find this mask fits you good because its fantastic if it does.. I've lent this mask to countless friends, students and divers alike to try and so far no-one has had any issue with it only noting an improvement!

Scuba Tips - Boat Scuba Diving Tips: Tips for a Successful Boat Dive

Having trouble maintaining your buoyancy? Then try these simply buoyancy control scuba diving tips. It can be frustrating if you are always adding air or letting air out of your BC not to mention it can also take some of the pleasure out of the dive since you are always trying to stay at the a depth instead of relaxing and enjoying. Don't forget either that bad buoyancy control adversely affecting your air consumption. (Find some more air scuba diving tips here.)

1) Use the Proper Weight

Most beginning scuba divers are over weighted. This will generally cause more use of the buoyancy compensator inflator as you change depth. If you are wearing a scuba diving wetsuit you will also become less buoyant as you descend. With these factors, the needed adjustments to your BC to maintain proper buoyancy are magnified.

What is proper weighting and how can I learn more about it?
Why not take a look at the peak performance Buoyancy specialty course and learn to be a buoyancy master

2) Be Patient and adjust it in Small Increments

If you add or release air from your BCD, give it time to take effect. It will not be instantaneous. If you don't give it a bit of time, you will have the tendency to over inflate (or deflate). Several seconds should be sufficient.
Also, just give the BC a short shot (or release) of air. You do not want to over inflate - or vice-versa.

3) Empty Your BC

If you feel you are under weighted or floating up, make sure your BC is empty of all air! More often than not air bubbles get trapped inside, the effect of which will be magnified as you ascend.

How to get the last of the air out of your BC?

Hold the inflator hose straight up while pressing the release button. Do a little wiggle dance and see if any air escapes.
Hold the right side of your BC against your body and tilt a little to the right. Go upside down and pull the dump valve on the bottom of your BC.

4) Stay Horizontal

You should be horizontal in the water so your kicks propel you forward and not upward. You may have to adjust where your weights are to accomplish this. It is also a function of experience, so be patient.

5)Breath Control

Don't forget the air in your lungs. Do not hold your breath - which you know already. Besides being dangerous, it will give you extra buoyancy. Eventually you will get to the point where you can ascend or descend a few feet solely by breathing in or out.

6) Dive, Dive and Dive Some More

Like all scuba diving skills, the more you practice them, the easier it will be. Once you get enough dives under your belt, relax under water and have experience with the weight you need, you will be diving without even giving scuba diving buoyancy a second thought.
