Dive Tribes CEO/Gwyn Mills talked with the head of the Marine Dept Pattaya this month and we are pleased to say the meeting was a great success and we were invited to stay all morning to discuss the finer details of the proposed projects. Dive Tribe will be diving with the Marine Department over the coming weeks to begin showing them areas for concern and possible project locations. We have great news for divers we plan to begin the calming measures for Jet skis and speed boats and protect the reefs of the surrounding area, we will also work with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources on the projects shortly which will directly protect the reefs.
We will begin artificial reef programs and look at putting in moorings with help from the private sector through contacts at the local authorities. we will keep you updated but please be patient, we are moving in the right direction !! this week Gwyn Mill (Founder) stated “Phase 2 of Project Koh Sak is on its way. I will be diving with both the Department of Marine & Coastal Resources and The Pattaya Marine Department this week. Onboard we will be discussing how we can build the marine park in Koh Sak and how we can further protect Hat Nuan and Koh Larn Island. We will also be discussing new ideas to make it safe for divers and swimmers and looking at possible ways to educate the tourists that come to the islands on marine conservation.
